Here’s a lesson for any “debunking” website thinking about employing Google AdSense. We switched AdSense on this afternoon (you may have noticed it in the far right-hand column on the homepage), only to discover that Counterknowledge.com was now advertising Bio Protective Systems’ “Green 8″ Phone Harmonizer, a device for harmonising and neutralising electromagnetic radiation “based on a special method with ‘Burned in Energy’ “. Oh my.
Are You Suffering From Hot Ears, Headaches and Unnecessary Stress… When Using Your Mobile Phone, Computers, Portable Phone, Wi-Fi, GPS etc? You Can’t See It, Feel It, Smell It Or Stop It But you ARE being affected by RADIATION!
Electro smog [sic] disrupts the natural life cycles by interfering with and changing the biological processes. It manifests itself as stress for body and mind. The body then tries to counteract the arising imbalance but can’t due to permanent exposure.
Therefore the body is undergoing a constant adjustment process, which, due to the increased energy consumption, weakens the immune system and manifests itself in various symptoms such as headaches, nervousness, concentration loss and memory defects as well as low energy.
I had no idea. Well at least it doesn’t… oh, I don’t know, cause cancer?
The weakening of the immune system together with other factors then furthers various other diseases including tumour development.
Damn. This sounds serious. So how do I know the Green 8 really works? Thankfully, the website offers a page tantalisingly named “Proof”. However:
Based on the fact that traditional physical measurement methods are not able to verify the effectiveness of our products we would like to outline further test methods that indicated a clear change…
Alarm bells ringing yet? They should be. You can read the rest of the “science” behind the Green 8 here.
“The human body does NOT lie!” state the manufacturers emphatically. All I can say is, it’s a good job they offer a 30-day money back satisfaction guarantee.
I’ll file this one next to the Q-Link.

That’s hilarious and ironic. At least the counterknowledge readership now knows where to go for EMF Radiation Protection…er….here.
It gets better. Do you know how contextual advertising works? (Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contextual_advertising)
The more we lampoon these wacky radiation devices, the more ads for them there are likely to be. Brilliant!
Ha ha! I suspected as much when I saw an advert for Stonehenge tours earlier.
I dread to think what sort of a website gets advertised when we debunk neo-nazi holocaust denial.
I must say, I was very confused about all the ads for Thorntons… until I remembered your post about chocolate from the end of last month.
The Führer was very fond of chocolate eclairs, as I recall, though they exacerbated his digestive problems.
you can easily earn lots of dollars from adsense if you have a high traffic site.-’-
