Excellent suff. The comments are deeply depressing, though, not least from some idiot who would have been in WTC 1 on the tragic day – if the appointment hadn’t been cancelled months earlier. And he can see from the video that the buildings were detonated with explosives. Wow.

That said, I would be perfectly prepareds to believe that Bush, Cheney et al knew something majorly bad (not too specific) was likely to happen, and didn’t over-exert themselves to stop it. If the facts supported that claim, who could seriously disbelieve it?

Yes, I noticed the comments too. But then, what can you expect from Guardian readers? If and when Barrack Obama loses, you can bet your life that they will make a conspiracy out of that.

Did anyone read the front page newspaper article on a the Al Qaeda propaganda push by UK government, using private PR companies, BBC and exploiting web media to “channel messages through volunteers in internet forums”?

On which newspaper was this, Steve?

The same newspaper that Charlie Booker and Ben Goldacre write for…The Guardian.

Thank you, Steve. You know, it’s usually a good idea when you refer to a story or article that’s available online to actually provide a link to it, so that people here can actually see if there’s any connection between what you’re saying the story says, and what it actually says. Perhaps you could do us a favour by posting one.

Yes, right enough I should have provided a link.

Thank you, Steve. The story looks fairly inocuous to me, and it seems like a re-run of IRD propaganda during the Cold War period. Perhaps someone can tell me what is wrong with trying to wage an information war designed to highlight Al-Qaeda’s weaknesses? I can’t see any problem myself.

Even by truther standards, that’s fucking pathetic. I mean, all those fantasy CNN bylines and newspaper headlines, and the sue photos from the 2003 anti-war rallies as if to imply that they were demos that the ‘truth’ movement organised. Not to mention using a pastiche of that oh-so-hip and contemporary group the … er, ahem … Bee Gees. You would have been better off doing a cover of ‘Tragedy’.

The 9/11 Lies movement has all the vitality and dynamism of Maurice Gibb. It really is just beyond sad. The last lines just about say it all for the Brians of this world:

‘We’re going nowhere.
Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah’.
